An aerial view of the church on the Mount of Beatitudes. The Mount of Beatitudes alludes to the hill in the Galilee of Israel where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. The Mount of Beatitudes overlooks the northern side of the Sea of Galilee. The current chapel was built in 1938 and is cared for by the Roman Catholic order of the Franciscans.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth." Matthew 5:1-12
