An aromatic anointing oil from Jerusalem scented with the woody Cedar of Lebanon. The Cedar of Lebanon has been referenced many times throughout Scripture. King David built his palace with Cedar of Lebanon, see 2 Samuel 5:11. King Solomon used it in the construction of the temple and a palace for himself as written in 2 Chronicles 2:3-8. The second temple was also constructed from cedars as noted in Ezra 3:7. Also the Cedar of Lebanon has been used metaphorically in the Psalms like in Psalm 92:12, "The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon".
