Messianic Gifts: Gifts to Celebrate the Jewish Roots of Faith

What can be considered Messianic Gifts?

Messianic gifts are for anyone who celebrates the Jewish Roots of their faith. Whether a person identifies themselves as “Messianic” or “Christian” Messianic Jewish gifts can speak to their hearts. Most Messianic products feature one of the two primary Messianic symbols: the Grafted In and the Messianic Star. Messianic gifts support Believers in observing and honoring their faith.

The Jesus Boat Shop website, JesusBoat.com, features many Holy Land gifts with the Messianic symbols. Some of the most appropriate are Judaica items which include the Grafted In. Judaica items are those items used to celebrate Jewish holidays and the Shabbat. For Believers celebrating the Jewish Roots of their faith Jewish holidays are important events. Giving and receiving Messianic Jewish gifts will make these celebrations that much more meaningful.

What is the Grafted In?

The Grafted In is considered the oldest Believer symbol. The term ‘Grafted In’ comes from Paul’s letter to the Church in Romans 11:11-24. In Romans 11, verse 19 when Paul states that, “You will say then, ‘Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in’” he is referring to branch as the Believer and the tree on to which to be grafted as the existing Jewish traditions. This means that the Messianic Believer is bound by covenant to Israel. Thus the Grafted In symbol is shaped as a menorah which becomes a Star of David which ends in a fish.

The menorah represents the Torah, the Biblical laws of Judaism and the promises G-d made to the people of Israel. The Star of David represents the kingdom of David and that his descendant would one day sit on the throne of Israel. Finally, the fish is the first common symbol of the Believer. It comes from the Greek, the original language of the New Testament, word for fish, “Ichthys,” which was used as an acronym for “Yeshua, Son of G-d, Savior. “

What is the Messianic Star?

The Messianic Star is a popular design for jewelry items. Believers of all denominations can appreciate the meaning behind this symbol.

The Messianic Star is a Star of David with a Christian Cross in the center. It is another symbol for the Believer who seeks the Jewish Roots of their faith. This symbol is a way of recognizing and honoring the history of the Christian religion. It is a way to link Christianity to Judaism – that it is all one living faith of the one and only G-d. For many the two symbols united is emblematic of the Old Testament prophecy found in Numbers 24:17-19, ”There shall come a star out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel… Israel shall do valiantly, out of Jacob shall come He that shall have dominion".  And this sentiment continues in the New Testament in Revelation 22:16, “"I, Jesus, have sent Mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star."
