Born in Poland in 1948 Bracha Lavee immigrated to Israel at the age of nine in 1957. Her family settled in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. After completing school and compulsory IDF service, Bracha was admitted to the renowned Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem where she excelled. Her experiences growing up in the Galilee of the newly formed State of Israel shaped her world view and influenced her artistic point of view.
