The cross is one of the oldest and most universal of all symbols. Because of His sacrifice on the cross, it is the perfect symbol of Christ and has become the very sign of the Christian Religion, the emblem of atonement, and the symbol of salvation and redemption through Christianity.
Despite many variations, there are two major types of crosses: The Latin Cross and the Greek Cross. The Latin Cross is made so that the upper bar and both horizontal arms are of equal length, and the lower arm is much longer.
