This lovely bookmark is graced with a photograph of one of Israel's birds, the Eurasian Crane. Each winter thousands of Eurasian Cranes stop over at the Hula Lake in northern Israel on their migratory path from Europe and Asia. The cranes spend the night in the Agmon Hula (Hula Lake) and at sunrise when they awaken fly off to forage for food. It is an incredible sight to see thousands of cranes take to the sky.
Israel wildlife is extremely diverse. The country is located between the temperate and the tropical zones. Israel is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, there is desert, mountains, fresh water rivers and lake, and fertile fields. Due to this hugely differing environments, the species of Israel are also hugely diverse. Israel loves and cares for it wildlife establishing over 190 nature reserves throughout the small country.
